Mountcastle Bawn lies about 3km NW of Donemana. Only one corner of this fortified Plantation house survives, though this displays a very Scottish looking bartizan. The building was constructed between 1618 and 1622 and was recorded in ruins in a survey of 1654. It was badly damaged during the 1642 rebellion and never rebuilt
