Houses along the western side of the Prinsengracht ring canal in central Amsterdam. It is a close nit space with winches over the top floor of many historic buildings to allow goods from the canal to be securely stored within.
Houses along the eastern side of the Prinsengracht ring canal in central Amsterdam. The canal is the third and outermost of the three main canals of Amsterdam. Together, these three canals form the "fourth outlay" of the city, an expansion project that was started in the year 1612 and took 50 years to build. The canal is now part of a World Heritage Site.
