Limeuil is a commune in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in southwestern France. It is located at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. It is also very picturesque.

Underneath a fortress of 1585, this museum in Les Eyzies in southern France, is a fine piece of modern architecture in very historic surroundings. It was designed by Jean Pierre Buffi and was opened in 2004. Dedicated to the Palaeolithic era. It houses a superb collection of prehistoric tools and art.

The Bastide of Montpazier, best preserved of the planned towns built by Edward 1 of England in s/w France in the late Thirteenth Century. This is the town square, focus of its grid plan. Four streets intersect under arcades to form this principal space. A further square just outside this main space contains the church and a small park.

The remaining gate of Beaumont du Perigord,- a Bastide town founded by Edward 1 of England in southern France in 1272. In common with most of these towns it has a regular grid plan focused upon a central square. These steps lead up to the square which was originally surrounded by deep arcades. A remaining section of this can be seen at the top of the steps.

The Manoir de Gisson, a listed building in the officially protected old quarter of Sarlat, dates back to the 13th century and is open to the public. Formed by two constructions of different periods, linked with each other by a staircase inside a hexagonal tower, it is well worth a visit.
