Tullaghan Cross
Overlooking the main N15 coast road from Bundoran to Sligo is this ancient cross. Surrounded by modern development, it is understood that the cross was found on the nearby beach in the 18th century and erected here by the local landlord as a market cross in competition with nearby Bundoran. The object is thought to date from the 9th or 10th centuries and to have been associated with a now lost monastery. Today it looks a bit incongruous amid the modern development, but it has loads of character and is a strong reminder of the long history of this place.
